KIng George III - Noticed that the colonies were in a " state of rebellion" and said that "blows must be decided" to who would control the colonies in North America.
Samuel Adams- Helped start the Sons of Liberty to protest against the Stamp Act. He circulated writings about colonists' grievances against Britain. Led another protest "colonial demand". The Sons of Liberty including himself boarded ships in the Boston Harbor disguised as Mowhawks and dumped 342 chests of tea into the Harbor.
Patrick Henry- Persuaded The Virginia House of Burgesses to take action against the Stamp Act.
Paul Revere and William Dawes- Warned Sam Adams, John Hancock and the citizens that the "Red Coats" were coming and to prepare for battle.
Benjamin Franklin- Was put in charge of the post office.
George Washington- Unanimously chosen to lead The Second Continental Congress.
Thomas Paine- Published the famous government pamphlet "Common Sense".
